The Endowment Fund of Blakemore UMC has two funds which offer college tuition support. They are the Dorothy Knowles and the Guy and Margaret Smith scholarships.The Guy and Margaret Smith scholarship is available for service related fields, such as medical, nursing, social worker, or teaching. The Dorothy Knowles scholarship is available for any field of study.
Applicants must submit an essay, letters of reference, transcript documents, and proof of financial need. The amount of the awards vary but is generally near $1,000.
Applications are available at the church office or can be downloaded below.
Deadline for submitting an application is July 1. All applications will be blinded and reviewed for clarity and need.
Awards will be announced by August 1. Money will paid directly to the school on your behalf.
