The Children's Department at Blakemore seeks to nurture children and families in the story of God. Through activities, curriculum and church participation, the Children's Department purposes to carry out the message of Christ in a unique way by fostering children's faith journey.
Sundays
9:30 a.m. - Sunday School
10:30 a.m. – All ages are welcome and invited to participate in worship. Worship includes a Children's moment for all ages; ages 3-5 may choose participate in worship with parent's supervision, at a quiet play area in the back of the sanctuary. Nursery care is available for children birth to age three, if desired.
Wednesdays
5:15 - 6:00 p.m. - Young Musicians Music Works (Grades 1-6)
5:30 - 6:00 p.m. - Little Musicians Music Works (ages 3-kindergarten)
5:45 - 6:40 p.m. - Dinner with family
6:45 - 7:30 p.m. –Blakemore Blast—this is an exciting, new mid-week ministry for children 1st-6th grade! Its combination of drama, music, games and age appropriate activities will be something both elementary students and preteens will enjoy!
Pre-schoolers will enjoy a series of fun, interactive lessons designed to meet the unique needs of this energetic bunch!

Attachment Parenting International (API) is an organization committed to promoting parenting methods that create strong, healthy emotional bonds between children and parents. These methods nurture and fulfill a child’s need for trust, empathy, and affection, providing a lifelong foundation for healthy, enduring relationships.

A Nashville-area Attachment Parenting support group meets at Blakemore on the third Tuesday of the month at 6:00 p.m.
Get involved in a wonderful tradition at Blakemore UMC -- the Christmas Musicial offered by the Children's Department. For 2008, Kevin Walker and Gary Boling are heading up the drama, "The Mystery at the Manger", the story of an investigative reporter, Jane Blonde, who is searching for the facts ... just the facts. She gets to the bottom of the Christmas story and finds a lot more than facts along the way.
The musicial is open to all children in1st through 6th grade. Assistants are needed for set design and props as well.
