Blakemore is an outreach oriented church. Parishioners are encouraged to become involved in activities in the community that support the efforts of people to improve the quality of life for themselves and their families.
Among the programs sponsored and/or supported by Blakemore Church are:
Blakemore Food Pantry. Provides free sack lunches and canned foods for individuals and families. Open Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.
Nearly New Store. Offers affordable clothing for persons having limited financial resources. Open M-W-F from 9:30 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. Located in Fellowship Hall, Bowling Ave. entrance.
Safe Haven Family Shelter. Provides temporary room and board for temporarily displaced families. Blakemore is one of many organizations that support this ministry through occasional meals and volunteer services. Located on 3rd Ave., S. http://www.safehaven.org/
Community Care Fellowship. Offers clothing, meals, and other services to homeless persons. Blakemore provides health care items, clothing, and volunteer services to support the work of this United Methodist agency located in East Nashville. http://www.ccf-ministry.org/

Mountain T.O.P (Tennessee Outreach Project). Blakemore is the mother church of this ministry to indigent residents of the Cumberland Mountains. Blakemore Children’s Center. Located next door to the church, this agency provides care and learning opportunities to pre-school children, including those with special challenges. Volunteer opportunities include service on the board of directors, buddy relaltionships, and facilities maintenance.
