Blakemore UMC offers six adult classes that meet from 9:30 a.m. to 10:15 every Sunday morning. Each class and leaders independently chooses their study topic. Please feel free to visit each of them to find the right fit for your spiritual needs.
Serendipity (Room 202)

Little Saints (The Nursery)
Age: Birth through 3
Leader: Rita Maddox
The Little Saints share short Bible stories and lots of fun and fellowship. The Nursery maintains a good volunteer helper base from the congregation to help guide the children as they take their places in the larger church family.
Beginnings
Age: 3 through 5/K
Leaders: Karen Luter and Ruth Rowles
Using the "Exploring Faith" curriculum, this energetic group uses experimental learning -- including storytelling, crafts, drama and roleplaying -- to experience the stories of the Bible.
The Travelers
Grades 1 through 3
Leaders: Felicia Lott and Lisa Lewis
Traveling through time and space to experience Bible stories! Reading isn't necessary for this class, but imagination is. This class is using the "Exploring Faith" curriculum through Fall 2008, when they will move to "Rock Solid."
The Who
Grades 4 through 6
Leaders: Julie Shadburne and Ellen Zinkiewicz
Creative and deep thinkers who are exploring God's faith in us and our faith in God. The Who uses the "Live BIG (Believing in God)" curriculum for discussion and Bible study.
MusicWorks
Ages 3 through 6
Leaders: Carrie Friddell, Rheatta Petty and Dawn Seidenschwarz
MusicWorks is a music education program using games, movement, and choral and instrumental music to teach music reading and foster an appreciation of sacred music. MusicWorks also strives to teach the meaning of worship participation. Two classes are offered: Little Musicians for ages 3 through kindergarten and Young Musicians for 1st through 6th grades.
Young Musicians meet at 5:15 p.m. on Wednesday evenings, ending at 6 p.m.
Little Musicians meet at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday evenings, ending at 6 p.m.
Special Needs
Opportunities for individual instruction, tailored to the level of the child, are available for children with special needs.
